Acupuncture can be beneficial for managing a wide range of symptoms and conditions. Acupuncture is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is based on the belief that an energy called Qi circulates throughout the body, influencing health and wellness. Disruptions in this energy flow can lead to illness or pain, which acupuncture aims to address by balancing the flow of Qi and stimulating the body's natural healing processes.

Conditions that acupuncture has been shown to help manage include:

Chronic Pain: Such as migraines, neck and back pain, tendonitis, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Digestive Disorders: Including irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, gastritis, and constipation.
Urinary and Reproductive Disorders: Menstrual cramps, irregular or heavy periods, infertility, and menopausal symptoms.
Psychological and Emotional Disorders: Depression, anxiety, stress, and insomnia.
Side Effects of Chemotherapy and Radiation: Fatigue, generalized pain, dry mouth, peripheral neuropathy, nausea, and vomiting.
Other Conditions: Seasonal allergies, high blood pressure, addictions to nicotine, alcohol, and drugs, overweight or obesity (when combined with diet and exercise).
Acupuncture can also help with fertility issues and erectile dysfunction.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body, which can stimulate the nervous system to release chemicals that reduce pain and inflammation, promote relaxation, and enhance overall well-being.

Acupuncture can be a great complement to conventional medical treatments.

Equestrian Therapy

Our physical therapy staff, trained in both craniosacral therapy and Equacizer equipment, offers a unique approach to helping riders overcome fear and regain their physical balance, strength, and confidence. With over 30 years of manual therapy experience, we can guide you through recovery, so you can enjoy riding your horse again.

I absolutely love what I do.

For nearly 30 years, I’ve been passionate about empowering people to move with confidence and rediscover their potential. At Irvington Wellness Center we strive to build a healthier, happier community, one patient at a time.

Beyond traditional physical therapy techniques, I utilize a toolbox of specialized manual skills to address your body’s needs on a deeper level. This includes Zero Balancing, a gentle method that facilitates the body’s natural realignment. Acupressure helps restore balance by stimulating specific points along energy meridians. To promote detoxification and reduce inflammation, I incorporate lymphatic therapy. Cranio-sacral therapy focuses on subtle manipulations to enhance the body’s inherent healing rhythms. Additionally, I employ myofascial release techniques to release tension and improve your range of motion. This comprehensive approach allows me to tailor a treatment plan that promotes not just pain relief, but also improved circulation, reduced tension, and a greater sense of well-being.

For me, physical therapy is a detective game. I find immense satisfaction in uncovering the root causes of your pain and crafting a personalized path to recovery. It’s a chance to combine my expertise, intuition, problem-solving skills, and collaborative spirit to help you move towards a healthier, happier you.

My other passionate pursuits are mountain biking, hiking and all things outdoors. I have a 20 year-old son, Nash who teaches me things all the time. I adore my friends. My cats, Trixie and Cheeto bring joy into my life everyday.

Let’s get you back to doing what you love.

Brett M. Willis, L.Ac.

They say great things come in threes, and for me, that started with my birthplace: Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany – home to both me and BMW (Bavarian Motor Works). Maybe that’s where my passion for precision and well-being began!

While my background includes a Bachelor’s in Biology and experience as a licensed paramedic, I found myself drawn to a more holistic approach to health. That’s what led me to acupuncture. I completed my Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Roseville, Minnesota.

Now, I get to combine my Western medical knowledge (currently working as a float nurse at Henry Community Health) with the wisdom of Eastern traditions. It’s this integrative approach that allows me to truly empower my patients on their wellness journeys.

When I’m not in the treatment room, you might find me indulging my inner nerd – I’m a lifelong student of various religions and a huge RPG fan. But I also love the great outdoors, whether it’s camping or volunteering as medical staff for church youth groups. It’s all about balance, right?

So, if you’re looking for an acupuncturist who’s as passionate about science as spirituality, and who enjoys a good adventure as much as a stimulating discussion, then let’s chat! I believe in creating a personalized treatment plan that works for your unique needs, helping you achieve optimal health from the inside out.
